“The Georgian government takes the responsibility to hold free, transparent and competitive elections so that no questions remain unanswered,” said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
According to the PM, the OSCE/ODIHR, NDI and IRI election observer missions, and MEPs would watch the municipal elections. “Our main wish and the goal was to invite as many election observers as possible,” PM claimed.
Prime Minister also stressed that the opposition did not prepare for the elections. He claimed the opponents plotted provocations acknowledging in advance that they would lose the race in every city.
Garibashvili pledged that the government would not admit provocations. “The country will hold the elections peacefully and will continue peaceful development,” PM claimed.
Georgia will hold the municipal elections on October 2.
