PM: Georgia to respond decisively to foreign-ordered operations and not to allow foreign special services to overthrow government
“The state will rise to the occasion. We will defend our national interests wherever necessary. Anyone participating in operations orchestrated by foreign special services will face a fitting response,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Prime Minister emphasised that any attempt to seize control of the state would be met with the harshest repercussions.
Anyone who raises their hand against our nation during demonstrations organised by foreign special services will be met with the severest response. Georgia is not a country where foreign special services will be allowed the opportunity to topple the government. Yesterday’s mobilisation was a continuation of the so-called 300-day protest, organised by foreign agents. There is a clear, logical link between the protests involving around 150 people and yesterday’s attempted overthrow.
From this, I want you to draw conclusions about our government’s stance towards foreign agents and their networks. We will be unwavering in our response to any violators. The state will stand firm. We will defend our national interests everywhere. Anyone involved in operations directed by foreign special services will face the appropriate consequences,” Kobakhidze declared.
