PM: Georgia – EU Association Council assessed as "best ever held" meeting
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze summed up his recent visit to Brussels, Belgium, at a press conference saying the visit demonstrated a positive attitude of the European partners towards Georgia and the Georgian delegation.
According to the PM, Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, assessed the Georgia-EU Association Council as “the best meeting ever held.”
Irakli Kobakhidze underscored that discussions at the meetings touched on both the directions of cooperation and specific initiatives that would allow our country to “enjoy the practical benefits that EU member states and their citizens enjoy today even before joining the European Union.”
“The visit to Brussels gives us the ground for optimism that Georgia moves forward on the EU integration path at a fast pace. I would like to repeat what I said in Brussels – by 2030, Georgia will be the best prepared for joining the European Union, both from a democratic and economic point of view. The Georgian government will spare no efforts to reach this goal,” he said.
