PM Garibashvili promises to send ex-president Saakashvili behind bars as he enters Georgia
“Mikheil Saakashvili (ex-president) will be arrested and sent to jail as soon as he lands on the Georgian soil. Those who obstruct this process would be punished strictly by the law,” Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili remarked on Saakashvili’s planned arrival in Georgia.
According to PM, Saakashvili is a coward person; his sole intention is to cause instability. Saakashvili is a convict and deserves imprisonment for inflicting devastating harm to the country. The call that Georgian people would protect Saakashvili is a sheer lie, Garibashvili claimed.
“Tens of thousands of angry people will meet Saakashvili here. They (UNM representatives) are going to mislead citizens and try to create some chaos,” Garibashvili claimed.
Prime Minister said the government would ensure the conduct of the October 2 local elections in a peaceful and competitive environment.
Ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili pledged to arrive in Tbilisi on October 2 to protect the Georgian people’s free choice following the local elections and take part in the ‘salvation’ of the country. In his video address on September 27, Saakashvili demonstrated a ticked he booked for the October 2 Kyiv-Tbilisi flight.
