PM: First recommendation to end polarization cannot be achieved without opposition's cooperation

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, on Monday, said the government and the parliament fulfilled the majority of the European Council’s recommendations outlined for Georgia.

At a joint press point with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, the PM stressed the opposition’s involvement in this process as “the first recommendation concerns the end of polarization, which cannot be achieved without the opposition’s cooperation .”

The Prime Minister stated that the government has always been willing to “open the door to the opposition, to have a continuous dialogue, which should be constructive.”

“We are fully aware that there are certain criteria and requirements that we must meet. The whole team, the government, operates in this spirit. We are following the recommendations presented to us. The Georgian Parliament, together with the government, has put forth a lot of effort in this regard,” he asserted.
