PM expects reset of relations with EU and US in early 2025

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed optimism about the future of Georgia’s relations with the European Union and the United States, stating that he anticipates a qualitative reset in these partnerships beginning in the early months of next year.

Kobakhidze highlighted that the primary foreign policy goal of the ruling Georgian Dream party remains integration into the EU.

“We anticipate a reset in our relations, which I believe is inevitable. This process will gain significant momentum starting next year. We expect the war in Ukraine to conclude sooner than initially projected. We believe that, at the latest, beginning in the first months of next year, our relations with both the EU and the US will undergo a qualitative reset, which is one of our top priorities.

Our primary foreign policy objective is integration into the European Union, and we are dissatisfied with the current state of our relations. We expect to see the first signs of progress in this area, with a qualitative reset of relations starting early next year, which is crucial for our country and also significant for the EU and the USA,” he stated.
