PM dubs Germany’s support on EU integration path as important; confident of future close cooperation
“Germany’s support of the European integration path is of particular importance. We hope that close cooperation between Georgia and Germany will continue,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
According to Kobakhidze, Germany played a crucial role in Georgia obtaining the EU candidate country status.
“Since the 90s, German support has played a special role in the development of our country. We are grateful for this support. Of course, Germany’s support is of particular importance on our European integration path. I thank my German friends, personally the Chancellor, for their support. We know that Germany’s position was decisive in positively shaping the relevant decision.
We very much hope that close cooperation between Georgia and Germany will continue in all aspects, both from the point of view of the European integration of our country and the development of bilateral relations. Today, we talked about all areas of cooperation – political, economic cooperation, and cooperation in defence and security. Absolutely all aspects of our collaboration are crucial. We hope and are confident that close cooperation will continue,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
