PM: Deep State uses EU funding to foment revolutionary processes in Georgia
“The fact that NGOs funded by European Union foundations organize rallies of 2,000 people, demand the overthrow of the government, and so forth, creates a lamentable reality. Such facts and actions reflect very heavily not only on the image of European bureaucracy but on the entire European Union’s image in our country,” Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, everyone can see that the “Deep State” is using European Union funding to encourage revolutionary processes in Georgia.
“The good thing is that these processes have no prospects whatsoever, but the very fact that NGOs funded by European Union foundations organize rallies of 2,000 people, demand the overthrow of the government, and so forth, creates a lamentable reality. Such facts and actions reflect very heavily not only on the image of European bureaucracy but on the entire European Union’s image in our country.
Therefore, it should come as no surprise that public trust has sharply declined, even toward the European Union—from 80% down to nearly 50%. This is because European bureaucracy, which is controlled by the ‘Deep State,’ is absolutely destroying trust in European structures in the eyes of Georgian society,” the Prime Minister declared.
