Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze congratulated pupils and students as they embark on the new academic year.

The Prime Minister emphasized that education serves as a solid foundation for achieving success in life.

“I would like to congratulate all students on the commencement of this new academic year, with a special acknowledgement to first-graders, for whom this marks a significant milestone in their lives. Education is a key element for achieving success, and I wish you all the best in your learning journey,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze.

During a government meeting, the Prime Minister announced that 60 public schools will undergo complete reconstruction in September and October, while the construction of approximately 100 additional schools is expected to be finalized by the end of the year.

“Over 28,000 students will have the opportunity to continue their education in schools built to international standards. This fall, we will initiate procedures for constructing 15 new schools and fully renovating 23 existing school buildings. All facilities will be equipped per modern standards,” he added.

The new academic year has commenced at public schools across Georgia, marking the arrival of over 50,000 first-graders this year.
