Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili congratulated Georgians on Didgoroba, the “Day of invincibility and freedom for Georgia, and unity and victory of Georgians.”
According to the PM, the day is the “biggest pillar in Georgia’s history” defining the faith in future victories.
“On August 12, 1121, the Georgian nation, commanded by great David The Builder, won a historic victory in the Didgori Battle that laid the foundation for the Golden Age in Georgia.
This event is not only the biggest pillar of our history but also a significant determinator of Georgians’ identity and faith in future victories.
I wish new victories, peace, unity, strength and prosperity to our motherland,” said the Prime Minister in his congratulatory statement.
Georgians mark Didgoroba, the anniversary of the Didgori Battle fought between the armies of the Kingdom of Georgia and the Great Seljuq Empire in Didgori, 40 km west of Tbilisi, on August 12, 1121.
