“The government will do its utmost to ensure free elections in a competitive environment, just as it has in the past,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during a briefing at the Government Administration.
According to the PM, pre-election campaigning is conducted in a peaceful environment, as confirmed by the OSCE/ODIHR observer mission’s interim report.
“Provisional statements are aimed at influencing the election results, but there are zero resources for this. Once the elections and other processes end, and the war in Ukraine comes to an end, these statements will change, and we will see a reassessment of our relations with both the European Union and the United States.
Regarding the elections, Georgia will conduct the process in a free and competitive environment, as affirmed by the OSCE/ODIHR interim report, and we are committed to managing the elections with the same integrity.
We hope the opposition will share this spirit. There will be no provocations, such as the destruction of the ruling party’s promotional materials or the erasure of “No War” from billboards. The government is dedicated to holding free elections in a competitive environment, as it has in the past, and we will move forward before October 26,” he concluded.
