PM: Brussels fully supports Black Sea submarine electric cable project
The Black Sea Submarine electric cable project has full support from Brussels, European Union, and leading financial institutions. We expect that this will be one of the significant historic projects that have been implemented for the last 30 years,” said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili while presenting his annual report in the parliament.
According to the PM, the project is initiated by Georgia and was first discussed in Brussels in 2021.
“We have received full support from the European Union from the beginning. Then we continued active cooperation with our strategic partners, Azerbaijan, Romania, Hungary, and last year a memorandum was signed. Now it is actively being studied. We expect to have the results of the study in September, and after that we will move on to the second phase,” he said.
