PM believes Georgia to become a full-fledged member of European family

“I believe that Georgia will become a full-fledged member of the big European family and enter Europe with its own traditions,” said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in a speech delivered at Europe Days.

Irakli Garibashvili remarked that the Georgian government had done a lot for the last 10 days to get closer to Europe.

“I believe that our European friends and European states will take the only correct political decision this year and will grant Georgia and the Georgian people candidate status because our country, people and the government deserve candidate status. We acknowledge well that granting candidate status is a symbolic act, but a very significant decision,” the PM said.

The Prime Minister reiterated full readiness to continue with the reforms that are key for the country and for Georgia’s bringing closer to the European friends and community.

He noted that Georgia is linked with European peoples with common and identic European Christian values.
