PM attends sermon on occasion of late Patriarch Ilia II's memory, anniversary of GOC Autocephaly Restoration at Sioni Cathedral

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, alongside President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and representatives of legislative and executive authorities, attended a sermon delivered on the occasion of late Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II’s memory and the anniversary of the Day of Restoration of Autocephaly of the Georgian Orthodox Church.

The PM, the President and members of the parliament laid wreaths at the Patriarch’s grave and paid tribute to his memory.

Shio Mujiri, Mitropolitan and Bishop of Senaki and Chkhorotsku and locum tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, delivered a memorial sermon at Sioni Cathedral on March 25 in connection with the ninth day from the death of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II and the anniversary of the restoration of autocephaly of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
