Georgian PM appoints Givi Tumanishvili as NSC Chief of Staff

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia appointed Givi Tumanishvili as a Chief of Staff at the National Security Council (NSC) today.

The Head of Government of Georgia wished every success to the newly-appointed official and highlighted the significance borne by the effective performance of NSC Office.

Givi Tumanishvili was serving as a Head of Analytics Directorate at the Intelligence Service of Georgia from 2019, while working at various positions within the Military Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia.

Up until today, Sergo Turmanidze has been Acting Chief of Staff at the NSC of Georgia.

NSC Office provides information, analytical data and organizational support to the National Security Council of Georgia. Identification, assessment, analysis and forecasting of the following threats and challenges are among the key directions of the NSC Office: monitoring and analysis of situation on the ground as witnessed in the occupied territories of Georgia, organization and coordination of conceptual documents on security matters with a national magnitude, efficient exchange of information and facilitation in the drafting of high-quality analytical products through a routine interaction with respective institutions, minutes of the NSC meetings and sessions, sound operation of the Situation Room for the management of crisis by the Prime Minister of Georgia if and when pertaining to national interests, coordination of projects in various directions.
