PM announces GEL 50,000 prize for each member of Georgian Olympic Team
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has declared that each member of the Georgian Olympic team, regardless of whether they won a medal at the Paris Olympics, will receive a prize of GEL 50,000 in recognition of their contributions to the team’s overall success. He made this announcement during a ceremony honouring the Georgian Olympic delegation at the State Ceremonies Palace.
The Prime Minister emphasized that coaches, medical personnel, and other support staff will also benefit from this initiative.
“To recognize their contributions, a GEL 50,000 bonus will be awarded to every team member who did not win a medal at the Olympics but contributed to the overall success. Coaches, medical personnel, and other staff will also receive increased bonus wages,” he said.
On August 12, Prime Minister Kobakhidze and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili issued a joint statement acknowledging the accomplishments of Georgia’s Olympic athletes at the Paris 2024 Summer Games. The statement highlighted that all Georgian Olympic medalists would be nominated for the highest state honours.
