Authority of the First Deputy Prime Minister will be assigned to Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development; Thea Tsulukiani, Minister of Culture and Sports, will be assigned the duty of the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia; Also, Irakli Chikovani, Minister of Defense, will be assigned the authority of the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, stated Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the Government Meeting today.

According to the Head of Government, Mikheil Peikrishvili will become a Department Head of Strategic Communications.

Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to Irakli Garibashvili for heading the government of Georgia during the past 3 years, while wishing success to the new composition of the cabinet.

“Let me greet you all! We are holding the first Regular Government Meeting today with a new composition. I want to wish success to everyone. A lot has been done for our country, – for the development of our country – in previous years with the engagement of each of us and I once again wish to thank you for this. Also, I wish to express gratitude to Mr. Irakli Garibashvili once again for heading the government during the past 3 years and for doing a lot for our country.

I wish to let society know about several appointment decisions. As already known in principle, the authority of the First Deputy Prime Minister will be assigned to Mr. Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development; Ms. Thea Tsulukiani, Minister of Culture and Sports, will be assigned the duty of the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia; Also, Mr. Irakli Chikovani, Minister of Defense, will be assigned the authority of the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia. We have changes within the Government Administration as well. Mr. Mikheil Peikrishvili will become a Department Head of Strategic Communications.
