PM dubs adoption of Transparency Law not gov't victory or opponent defeat, but Georgia's triumph

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze addressed the recent adoption of the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence at today’s Cabinet meeting, emphasizing that “it should not be seen as a victory for the government or a defeat for the law’s opponents or international partners”.

According to Kobakhidze, the real winner from the passing of this law is Georgia, its sovereignty, and its security.

“Accordingly, only the ill-wishers of our country were defeated by the adoption of this law. It can be said unequivocally. During these two months, there was a lot of misinformation about the law.

There was too much emotion, which had only an artificial basis, but now the law is in force, and we all have to act pragmatically, with a cold mind, and put unnecessary emotions aside.

This is especially true for those who try to cover up their frustration over the failure of the protest with liberal-fascist actions. Liberal fascism is an ideology as dangerous as classical fascism and Bolshevism. It has been artificially introduced in our country, Georgia, for years through opaque finances, and it is absolutely incompatible with Georgian culture.

I call on everyone to separate themselves from liberal fascism, which poses the greatest threat, first and foremost, to the personal development of its followers,” Kobakhidze stated.
