PM: 2025 marked record year for both tourism and aviation in Georgia
Tbilisi International Airport is one of the country’s most important strategic infrastructure facilities and makes a significant contribution to economic growth and tourism development, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze said during the presentation of the Tbilisi International Airport expansion project.
According to the Prime Minister, 2025 marked a record year for both tourism and aviation in Georgia.
“Tbilisi International Airport is one of the most important strategic infrastructure facilities in the country, playing a key role in the development of the economy and tourism. The importance of the airport’s expansion is even more evident given that 2025 was a record year for tourism and aviation in Georgia. Last year, Georgia recorded 5.5 million tourist visits, which is a historic high. In the same period, 8.5 million passengers passed through the country’s three international airports, also a record figure,” Kobakhidze said.
An agreement on the expansion of Tbilisi International Airport was signed today with the French company Groupe ADP. The project envisages an investment of USD 150 million.
