Penitentiary Service confirms ex-president Saakashvili attends his trial

The Special Penitentiary Service confirmed that ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili would attend his trial at the Tbilisi City Court. The hearing will start at 11 am against security measures strengthened on the site.

A panel of three judges will hear today Mikheil Saakashvili’s case on the November 7 episode. Reportedly, the former President of Georgia has already been transferred to the court building amid his supporters gathering near the court building.

Ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili was convicted in absentia to six years behind bars for several crimes.
