Patrol Police Head Vazha Siradze said that the number of protesters at the rally going on at Aghmashenebeli Lane was not sufficient enough to restrict traffic movement.
According to Siradze, the rally participants artificially attempted to block the road. He said the proportional force of the police was deployed at the site and called on the rally participants not to violate the law.
The Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) endorsed the final outcomes of the October 26 parliamentary elections on November 16.
Opposition representatives and civic activists protested outside the CEC building parallel to the sitting claiming the elections were mass rigged. They marched along Aghmashenebeli Lane following the CEC sitting.
