Patriarch’s godchildren lead procession in honour of His Holiness Ilia II [Photo/Video]

The godchildren of His Holiness Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, are leading a procession in honour of the Patriarch.

The Patriarch’s godchildren, along with their family members, gathered at Avlabari metro station, from where they will proceed to the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

The concept of universal baptism belongs to the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia. Ilia II’s godchildren are the third and subsequent children of married couples. The first universal baptism took place in 2008.
