Patriarch's doctor says Reverend Shio feels well based on Patriarchate information
Tsisana Shartava, the personal physician of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, has stated that, according to information received from the Patriarchate, Reverend Shio Mujiri, the Patriarchal locum tenens and Metropolitan of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, is feeling well.
Shartava clarified that she had no information about Reverend Shio’s alleged poisoning and emphasized that she is not his doctor.
“He feels well, I called and they said he is absolutely fine. Perhaps an announcement will be made,” she added.
Several Georgian media outlets have reported about the alleged poisoning of Shio Mujiri. Reportedly, the priest had been feeling unwell and suspicious substances were discovered in his analyses. The patriarchate has not yet made an official statement.
