Pat Patel: Georgia and Singapore serve as connective hubs punching above their weight

“We see many parallels between Georgia and Singapore; both are nations with modest populations that punch far above their weight. Each serves as a vital connective hub for its wider region, and herein lies the vast potential,” stated Pat Patel, Executive Director for the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) across MEA, the Americas, and the Middle Corridor region.

Patel highlighted that, much like Singapore, Georgia possesses every capability to establish itself as a dominant regional gateway.

“A few years ago, we partnered with the National Bank of Georgia to launch a joint initiative under which the Tbilisi Financial Summit is convened,” Patel remarked.

“This effort aims to shine a spotlight on the exceptional innovation and talent present within Georgia and right across the Middle Corridor.

We see many parallels between Georgia and Singapore; both are nations with modest populations that punch far above their weight. Each serves as a vital connective hub for its wider region, and herein lies the vast potential. Just as Singapore succeeded in drawing in businesses, top talent, and cutting-edge technologies, allowing enterprises to base themselves locally before expanding regionally, we are observing that same trajectory unfold in Georgia today.

We look forward to hosting the next iteration of our programme this October and invite delegates from both Georgia and the wider region to convene at the Tbilisi Financial Summit,” Pat Patel said.
