The Parliament Committee on Procedural Issues will convene today to verify the authenticity of the MPs’ signatures under the President’s impeachment.
Eighty members of the ruling party signed the constitutional submission. The specifics of the constitutional submission will be revealed during the committee’s meeting.
As per the procedure, once the committee confirms the authenticity of the signatures, the case will be forwarded to the Constitutional Court for further consideration.
On September 1, the ruling party said President Salome Zourabichvili violated the constitution by travelling to European Union countries without the government’s permission.
