Parliament to hold confidence vote for new Cabinet on December 24

The Georgian Parliament of the 10th Convocation will hold the confidence vote to the new Cabinet of Ministers at the extraordinary sitting on December 24.

The fall session was closed on December 18 with a Bureau sitting and the parliament will apply to President for scheduling extraordinary sittings. The parliamentary committees will listen to the ministerial candidates before the confidence vote.

Georgia’s Acting Prime Minister, Giorgi Gakharia, presented a new Cabinet to the parliament on December 18.

The opposition parties will not attend the confidence vote since they continue to boycott the parliamentary work and the majority of them applied to the parliament to terminate their MP mandates.

The new government needs support of 76 lawmakers to be approved.
