Parliament Speaker meets Italian Senate Vice-President
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met with Italian Senate Vice-President Gian Marco Centinaio.
The meeting highlighted people-to-people, energy, tourism, trade, and economic ties between the two countries.
“The Vice President expressed unequivocal support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. He expressed readiness to assist Georgia on its EU membership path. Shalva Papuashvili highlighted Italy’s role in shaping Europe’s future as one of the EU’s founding members. He expressed hope that Italy would support Georgia’s candidate status application,” the Georgian Parliament stated.
The Speaker also thanked the Italian government for recognizing Georgia as a safe country and allowing its citizens to work legally in Italy.
