Parliament Speaker meets Executive Director of Westminster Foundation for Democracy

Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili met Executive Director of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, Anthony Smith within the framework of the parliamentary delegation’s visit to the United Kingdom.

The parties reviewed the fruitful cooperation between the Georgian parliament and the Westminster Foundation during the meeting.

Shalva Papuashvili thanked the director of the foundation for supporting parliamentary democracy in Georgia, including strengthening the oversight function of the parliament and improving the involvement of citizens in the legislative process. The parties also discussed the prospects of future cooperation.

The Georgian parliamentary delegation includes Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze, Head of the Parliament Speaker’s Office Levan Makharashvili and MPs Nino Tsilosani, Giorgi Khelashvili and Teona Akubardia.
