Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Georgia, Ilhom Abdurahmon.
According to the parliament’s press service, historically friendly relations between Georgia and Tajikistan were reviewed during the meeting, focusing on the intensification of bilateral cooperation and strengthening parliamentary ties.
The parties emphasized the significance of the Middle Corridor development to expand trade with the Central Asian region.
The conversation also touched on the importance of better utilizing the potential in the areas of economy, trade, and tourism.
Shalva Papuashvili expressed gratitude to Tajikistan for its support of Georgia’s territorial integrity.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan focused on cultural ties. He informed the Parliament Speaker that a bust of Shota Rustaveli is planned to be unveiled in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
