Parliament interviews Public Defender candidates

The Georgian parliament has kicked off hearing from the candidates contending for the Public Defender’s post.

The Human Rights Committee will interview three applicants today: Ana Abashidze (nominated by the parliamentary opposition parties), Giorgi Burjanadze and Marika Arevadze. Lawmakers will ask questions.

Nineteen applicants are contending for the job of Georgian Public Defender.
