Parliament endorses Common Courts Law

Georgian Parliament passed the draft law on Common Courts with the third reading by 83 lawmakers having voted pro on June 13.

The package of amendments introduced to the MPs by Anri Okhanashvili, Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee, was prepared to fulfil the EC’s 12-point recommendations.

The bill defines rules and criteria to appoint judges to vacant positions in the Regional and Court of Appeals.
