Parliament elects Heads of Personal Data Protection and Special Investigation Services

Georgian parliament elected Heads of the Personal Data Protection and Special Investigation Services, which were established instead of the State Inspector’s Service and will begin functioning from March 1.

Based on the parliament’s decision, Lela Janashvili will head the Personal Data Protection Service, while Koka Katsitadze – Special Investigation Service.

The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party replaced the State Inspector’s Service last year and established two separate agencies instead.
