Parliament elects CEC Chairman
Georgian parliament elected Giorgi Kalandarishvili as Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) with 84 votes pro and two con.
A total of 110 MPs registered for the voting procedure at the plenary sitting.
Giorgi Kalandarishvili will serve as CEC Chairperson for six months instead of 5 years since he was elected through the second balloting.
The parliament also elected Maia Zaridze and Gia Tsatsashvili as CEC members.
