Parliament approves legislative changes on rule for compulsory wearing of medical face masks
The Georgian Parliament approved legislative changes on the rule for compulsory wearing of medical face masks with 73 votes for today through the first reading during the plenary sitting.
Based on the proposed changes, wearing of medical face masks will be compulsory in closed spaces, public transport and taxi. In case of violation of the rule, physical persons will be fined with 20 GEL, while legal entities – 500 GEL.
The changes uphold the regulation based on which physical persons will be fined with 2 000 GEL for violation of quarantine and isolation rules, while legal entities – 10 000 GEL.
Citizens, who cannot wear medical face masks due to health condition, should obtain a special certificate and will not be fined.
