Parliament approves draft-bill On Broadcasting regarding TV School Project
The Georgian Parliament approved the draft-bill On Broadcasting regarding TV School Project through the first hearing today.
As Genady Margvelashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee told Georgian First Channel, the draft-bill states that administrative bodies, political parties and public officials cannot finance the Broadcaster, purchase its service.
The direct or indirect financing of programs during their production or airing is prohibited except financing of educational, cultural, public order or security related programs.
The 73 lawmakers supported the draft-bill. The second hearing is planned for June 11.
