Parliament approves amendments to Preschool Education Law in first reading
The Georgian Parliament has supported, in the first reading, amendments to the Law on Early and Preschool Education with 81 votes in favor.
According to the draft legislation, the authorization period for early and preschool education institutions will be extended from the current 4 years to 6 years.
The new 6-year authorization period will also apply to institutions that received authorization prior to the amendment’s entry into force. These institutions will automatically be considered authorized for six years from the date they were originally granted authorization.
The draft law was prepared by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and initiated by the Government of Georgia.
