Parliament adopts package of legislative proposals "On Assemblies and Manifestations" in 1st reading
The Georgian Parliament adopted the package of legislative proposals “On Assemblies and Manifestations” in the first reading.
The revisions were approved by 75 deputies, while 23 voted against them.
According to the draft bill, the participants of the assembly or demonstration are prohibited from setting up a temporary construction if it poses a risk to assembly or demonstration participants or other individuals; inhibits police efforts to maintain public order and security; disrupts the usual operation of the business, institution, or organization;
The Parliament will consider the draft bill in an accelerated manner.
