PACE adopts resolution declaring Russia a terrorist regime

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Thursday voted to adopt a resolution declaring the Russian Federation a terrorist regime, Kyiv Post reported.

Ukrainian MP and member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, Oleksiy Honcharenko, called it “a historical result!”

“PACE has just adopted a powerful resolution on Ukraine! For-99 delegates. One abstained. This is a historical result! Full support of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,” Honcharenko tweeted.

The Assembly also voted to speed up the creation of a Special International Tribunal to prosecute the crime of aggression against Ukraine and set up a comprehensive international compensation mechanism, including an international register of damage.

Also, the PACE members called on Russia to withdraw its forces from Georgia and Moldova. Furthermore, the Assembly urges the OSCE to continue using relevant methods to assess Russia’s actions against Georgia and Moldova.
