Paata Burchuladze requests Boris Paichadze Stadium for October 4 congress, citing need for large venue

Paata Burchuladze, leader of the Rustaveli Avenue movement, has submitted a request to the city hall to hold his congress on October 4 at the Boris Paichadze National Stadium, citing its capacity as essential for the event.

“We all understand that change in our country is inevitable, and it’s unthinkable that this will last forever. My purpose in coming here was to request the Boris Paichadze Stadium for our congress, as it is one of the largest venues available. That’s why we submitted this request.

The Rustaveli Avenue movement aims to facilitate a smooth and peaceful transfer of power. We plan to hold the congress on October 4, coinciding with the expected local election date, allowing the Georgian people to decide their future.

Why would the City Hall refuse us? We are not engaging in anything unconstitutional or illegal. We simply need a venue to gather. The stadium can host up to 55,000 people. Some 25,000 can fill the field, the rest will be outside—everything is geared toward ensuring a peaceful transition of power,” Burchuladze stated.
