I organized October 4 protest, without provocation, everything would have remained peaceful, Paata Burchuladze, who was convicted in connection with the October 4 case, said during the hearing at the Tbilisi Court of Appeals.

“Paata Manjgaladze was not an organizer in any way. I am happy to say that I was the organizer of October 4,” Burchuladze said.

He added that the events would have unfolded peacefully had there been no provocation.

The Tbilisi City Court previously sentenced Burchuladze, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, and Paata Manjgaladze to seven years in prison each in connection with the October 4 case. The defense has appealed the verdict to the Court of Appeals.
