OSCE Co-ordinator hopes 'elected leadership effectively take care of key challenge facing nation'
Pascal Allizard, OSCE special Co-ordinator, on Sunday, expressed “sincere hope for the people of this country that the leadership elected yesterday will effectively take care of the key challenge facing the nation and bring Georgia ever closer to its declared goal of the European Union membership.”
During the press conference, Allizard thanked the authorities of Georgia “for their cooperation” during this mission and the Georgian people for their “very warm welcome of our observers” on election day.
According to the Central Election Commission’s (CEC) preliminary data from 3,100 election precincts, the Georgian Dream party has secured 54,09% of the votes.
The total support for the four opposition groups reached 37.58 %.
