During Svaneti Days, the Orbeliani Presidential Palace offered a public lecture and debate on Svan laws and toponyms.
Nino Samsonia, an associate professor at Tbilisi State University (TSU), presented the lecture and commended President Salome Zourabichvili for her interest in science. She mentioned that the session was on ancient cuneiform writings, which are “closely tied to Georgian languages and on which the entire civilization and culture stand.”
As part of the occasion, ancient manuscripts and photographs of Svaneti were displayed, and Svanetians were housed at the Orbeliani Palace for three days.
