Georgian opposition will announce its action plan in Rustaveli Avenue in the Georgian capital on Saturday noon.
United National Movement (UNM) party member, Zaal Udumashvili, said the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party turned its back on Europe.
“Georgian Dream openly stated that it is closing its doors to our European partners. The opposition was fully constructive not only in the negotiation process but in actions.” Udumashvili said
UNM resumes protest rallies as the agreement failed and announces a new wave of protest.
European Party member Gigi Ugulava thinks failed talks could deepen the political crisis. He added that upcoming large-scale rallies aim at the release of political prisoners and the snap elections.
The opposition and the ruling team held a second hours-long joint meeting mediated by EU’s Christian Danielsson on Thursday. The parties failed to reach an agreement.
EU special envoy emphasized that ending the political crisis is essential as Georgia would be able to focus on real problems like Covid and the EU agenda. He already left for Brussels.
