Opposition ready to work in any format but GD run away, Paata Manjgaladze says

“We were going to work in whatever format to comply with the [EU] recommendations, but the Georgian Dream ran away,” said Paata Manjgaladze, a member of the Strategy Agmashenebeli.

According to Manjgaladze, the Georgian Dream “avoids its obligations” to move on the election agenda.

“Last year and a half showed that no reform projects have been written in the working groups. The system aimed at protracting the process. We have always said this and now ‘the Kotsis’ [GD members] have confirmed it.

Since the parliamentary elections of 2024 are nearing, they [GD] do not want a working group that will not yield results. We were going to work in any format, but the Georgian Dream ran from this format.

The Georgian Dream is well aware that deoligarization and anti-corruption plans, as well as electoral reforms will not be tabled. The electoral and the judicial systems will not change. Therefore,  to switch to the election agenda, they dodge duties,” he added.
