Opposition MPs meet British colleagues

Georgian parliamentary opposition lawmakers met Jonathan Djanogly, chairman of the British inter-party parliamentary group working on Georgian issues and delegation members.

Georgia’s European perspective, the 2024 parliamentary elections, and short and long-term election observation missions were the main topics at the meeting.

“Our British colleagues are concerned that Georgia fails to effectively use the assistance that comes from the UK and many democratic countries. However, they hope, and we gave them hope, that the political climate rapidly changes and would soon improve in Georgia,” said Davit Usupashvili, a member of the Lelo party.

MP Khatia Dekanoidze stressed the significance of holding free and fair parliamentary elections in 2024 and the representation of international observer missions for monitoring the polls.
