Opposition CEC members meet with EU Delegation officials to address election irregularities

Opposition members of Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) met with the EU Delegation to Georgia’s officials, Deputy Head of the Policy, Information, and Press Department Pierre Salieri, and Project Manager Antonio Dal-Borgo, to discuss alleged violations during the recent elections.

The meeting, initiated by opposition representatives, focused on concerns surrounding the electoral process.

David Kirtadze from the United National Movement and Giorgi Sioridze of the Strong Georgia coalition participated in the discussions.

“We will present detailed information concerning violations that occurred during the pre-election period and on election day, which we believe led to the manipulation of the electoral process by both the government and the CEC. These elections were the most unfair and opaque, failing to reflect the will of the Georgian people accurately,” Kirtadze stated before the meeting.

CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili announced a four-year ban on Kirtadze’s occupation in election administration following an incident on November 16.
