MIA: Kakheti Police arrest one on charge of intentional minor bodily injury

Officers of the Kakheti Police Department under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested one person on charges of intentionally causing minor bodily injury, the ministry said.

According to the Interior Ministry, witness statements indicate that the incident occurred during a wedding at a hotel in Telavi. Foreign nationals staying at the hotel allegedly insulted wedding guests from the balcony of their room and poured water onto the event’s audio equipment. Following the incident, the suspect allegedly physically assaulted a female foreign national.

The injured woman was taken to a medical clinic to receive appropriate treatment.

The suspect was arrested following operational measures and investigative actions.

The investigation is underway under Article 120 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of up to three years in prison, according to the ministry.
