Olympic Champions Lasha Talakhadze and Kakhi Kakhiashvili meet juvenile inmates

Olympic, world, and European weightlifting champions Lasha Talakhadze and Kakhi Kakhiashvili met with inmates at Georgia’s Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility No. 11, the Special Penitentiary Service said.

According to the service, the athletes shared their professional experiences with the inmates and spoke about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format.

The Special Penitentiary Service said that promoting sports and physical activity is one of its key priorities. As part of its sports management strategy, penitentiary institutions regularly host sports festivals and competitions while continuing to upgrade sports infrastructure and equipment.

According to the agency, these initiatives play an important role in supporting the rehabilitation and resocialization of inmates.
