Occupation forces illegally detain Georgian Citizen

The Russian occupation forces illegally detained a Georgian citizen near Takhtisdziri village in Kareli municipality (near the Tskhinvali occupation line), the Georgian State Security Service (SSSG) reported on Wednesday.

According to the SSSG, the hotline operated by the EU Monitoring Mission has already been activated. International partners and the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions were immediately informed of the incident.

All available mechanisms were activated to release the illegally detained Georgian citizen as soon as possible.

The SSSG underscored that the responsibility for all destructive acts committed in the occupied territories of Georgia and along the occupation line lies with the occupying power.
