Number of foreign visitors up 226.4 % in December 2021, NBG says

The number of visits by international travellers to Georgia increased by 226.4 per cent in December 2021 compared to the previous year. The number of tourists accounted for 89.9 per cent of the total visitors and soared by 239.1 per cent annually, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported on Monday.

Russia, Turkey and Armenia were stood out by growth in December. The number of international travellers coming from EU countries, mainly Germany, Poland and Lithuania, grew 6.6 times, reaching 14.9 per cent.

NBG added that the number of one-day visits during the reporting month also increased significantly.
